  • Resin from the dried sap of several Asiatic species of Astragalus
  • Similar consistency to bird's nest
  • Used to treat diarrhoea and constipation
  • Great cooling properties 
  • Beneficial for skin health
  • How to cook: Soften the gum beforehand by soaking it in clean water for at least 2 hours then remove impurities
  • Note: a small handful adequate for 8-10 servings as the gum will expand in volume
